Sweet Temptation!
I discovered the BuddySlim web site a week ago. I hesitated before signing up because I wasn’t sure the timing was right for me. I’ll soon be spending one week of vacation with my sister in law who cooks the most succulent desserts. She and her husband are the type of people who eat anything they want and stay slim. Good for them, but so unfair for people like me! I lost about 15 lbs on a low carb diet a few years ago. Unfortunately I gradually gained it all back plus a few extra. I was completely weaned off high glycemic foods until I spent Christmas with my in-laws. It started with just one small dessert but once the sugar was back in my veins, I was out of control. I figured that with all the weight I lost, just one dessert couldn’t hurt. I thought I could control it but at the end of every meal, I had a new justification – “it’s Christmas, let go and enjoy it” or “I’ll be careful next week” or “why not, everybody is having some!” you know how it is… So then I got to thinking that this buddy system is just what I need. I deliberately signed up before my vacation so that I have the motivation to avoid the sweet temptations. Another incentive – I’m running out of clothes to wear. When I lost the weight a few years ago, I got rid of all my old clothes. I figured I was never going back to my old weight and getting rid of my clothes was sort of my insurance policy. Turns out my little plan backfired and I now have a wardrobe full of clothes that are two sizes too small. I’m very grateful to have buddies supporting me. Just knowing you are there will definately help me stay on track. Many thanks also to Dr. Marc for providing this wonderful support system free of charge!
That sounds just like me! I lost about 30lbs 2 years ago and got rid of most of my clothes. Then I gained it all back and had to buy new clothes. Good luck, you can do it. This is a great site and really helps.

If you want to be extra motivated, go to the forum and join a weight loss challenge team. There are 5 teams, (I’m a Heartbreaker) and we all weigh in on Sat mornings. The team that loses the most wins. It really helps you stay on track, knowing your team is counting on you to help win. It’s as close to having fun while losing weight as you can get.

Welcome to Buddyslim! This site has helped me big time. I hope it does the same for you.
Thank you all for your support. I tried the buddy system with family members and friends but it never worked out. I was all eager, calling or e-mailing them and I was not hearing back or was told they were too busy to continue. I have a really good feeling this time I found the right people.
Sandy, I’m really interested in joining the team but I went to the forum but I didn’t find any info on how to join. I’m good with computers but I’m new at blogs and forums and I don’t fully understand yet what the best method is to be a good buddy (blog, message, post, etc…). Would appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks again everyone!
